Who we are

Premier CFB Rankings is a fan project. We build and publish college football polls for the FBS season and give readers a ballot of their own. The site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NCAA, the Associated Press, any athletic conference, or any university.

Rankings, comparisons, and ballots on this site are for information and discussion. They are not official, not a prediction market, and not advice to wager.

The polls

The Premier Poll estimates true team strength. It is not trying to pick a playoff field from résumé alone. Inputs include the AP poll, Josh Pate's JP Poll (FPI when JP is missing), ESPN FPI, and roster talent. Weights shift toward the AP as the season progresses. The equation is shown on the poll page.

The Résumé Poll only cares what happened on the field. Each game is scored from the previous week's Premier Poll (the full FBS formula board). Upsets pay; losses to weaker teams cost. The list is the season-long point total.

The Collective Poll averages every published fan Top 25 for that week. It is the crowd's board, rebuilt when new ballots come in.

Compare puts any two of those lists next to each other, including AP weeks when we have them.

Your ballot

Anyone can read the public polls without an account. Creating and saving a personal Top 25 lives on My Poll and requires sign-in so we can store the ballot and fold it into the Collective. Friend invites are optional and only used to share and compare ballots.

Pick ’em, groups, and the playoff boards

Pick ’em is a weekly slate of Power 4 games, plus Top 25 and Premier Selection boards. Each correct pick is one point. A perfect category is worth 1.5× those points. Thursday and Friday games lock at that game’s kickoff; the rest of the slate locks at the first Saturday kickoff.

Groups run the same scoring on a private slate you share with friends. CFP Predictor is separate: predict the 12-team field before Selection Sunday, then fill out the official bracket after the committee posts the seeds.

Editorial independence

Rankings, methodology, and challenge rules are written here. We do not sell placements in the polls. Advertising, when it appears, is labeled and kept off login, manager, and other screens that are not meant to be articles or boards.
